April 02, 2024: AIIMS is all geared up to actively promote medical tourism in the near future. Representatives from various countries in the fields of engineering and management visited AIIMS as part of a training program. The delegation understood the institutional and administrative frameworks of the institute. The executive director of the institute informed the team that AIIMS would soon work towards promoting medical tourism.
A team of foreign representatives arrived from the Indian Institute of Public Administration, Delhi, on Monday. They learned about the construction, structural arrangements, and upcoming challenges in the operation of the institute. They acquired information from senior officials. The team also inspected various departments including telemedicine, skill lab, college of nursing, hospital premises, ICU area, operation theater, trauma center, Ayush department, cafeteria, and hostel area. Representatives engaged in extensive discussions on various activities with AIIMS officials.
AIIMS executive director Prof. Meenu Singh briefed the team members that continuous development of health facilities is underway at AIIMS. A separate transplant division will soon commence operations in the hospital. The institute is also planning in the field of medical tourism. Future visitors to Rishikesh will benefit from this facility. They highlighted the advantages of nutritious food available at the institute’s cafeteria. On this occasion, the institute’s acting dean academic Prof. Shailendra Haandu, deputy director (administration) Lt. Colonel Amit Parashar, head of CFM department Prof. Vartika Saxena, sub-dean Dr. Vandana Dhingra, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, Dr. Narendra Kumar, Dr. Madhur Uniyal, Dr. Pooja Bhadauria, among others, were present.
