March 30, 2024: Rishikesh – The Adventure Capital of India, witnessed a remarkable surge in rafting lovers during the Good Friday long weekend. Travelers from Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Mumbai, and various other states congregated in areas such as Swargashram, Lakshman Jhula, Muni Ki Reti, Purnanand, and Tapovan. Rafting hubs like Brahmpuri, Shivpuri, and Club House experienced a continuous influx of tourists throughout the day.
As the summer season sets in, tourists are seeking for rafting adventure to beat the scorching heat. An impressive total of 3,132 tourists engaged in rafting activities during the Good Friday weekend. Adventure tourism officials disclosed that 355 tourists embarked on their rafting journey from Club House, 1,244 from Brahmpuri, and 1,533 from Shivpuri on Friday alone. Rafts were observed navigating the Ganga from dawn till dusk, offering adventurers an exhilarating experience.
The surge in number of tourists is because of the extended weekend. However, traffic jam from Muni Ki Reti to Brahmpuri is causing inconvenience to tourists. After rafting, travelers are also exploring areas like Patna Waterfall, Phoolchatti, Garudchatti, Ratapani, Mohanchatti, Ghattugad, Bairagarh, Naini, Bijni, Shivpuri, Tapovan, Gugathani, Kyarki, and more.
With tourists flooding in, almost all hotels, guesthouses, camps, and cottages are already brimming with guests.
