Two More Bodies Recovered from Camp Buried by Landslide at Rishikesh

In the wake of torrential rain, a tragic landslide occurred near the village of Jogyaana in the Yamkeshwar block of Pauri district, Uttarakhand, on Sunday. The calamity claimed the lives of two more members of a family from Haryana, who were trapped under the debris. This disaster has now claimed the lives of a total of five family members.

It should be noted that the landslide wreaked havoc on the Night Paradise Camp Area in Ravaada, submerging the region. Within one camp, Sector-4, 1756, five members of a single family from Kurukshetra, Haryana, were trapped. Fortunately, the family’s eight-year-old daughter, Kritika, was rescued unharmed.

Over the past three days, the bodies of Kamal Verma (36), son of late Ashok Kumar Verma, Nisha Verma (32), Kamal Verma’s wife, and Vishal, also known as Monty (24), had been recovered. Now, the bodies of two more individuals, Nishant Verma (18), son of Ravi Verma, and Nirmitt Verma (9), son of Kamal Verma, have been found today.
