In the Summer Hill area of the capital city Shimla, the tragic incident at the Shiv Bawri Temple has taken a grim turn as three more bodies were discovered on Wednesday, marking the 11th day since the incident. With this discovery, all 20 missing individuals have now been accounted for. The deceased have been identified as Neeraj, Samayra, and Pawan.
The three bodies were found approximately 500 meters away from the site of the incident, in a stream. After using JCB and Pokelane machines to remove large rocks, the NDRF and SDRF teams undertook excavation to retrieve the bodies from the debris. The police had a list of 20 individuals who were trapped under the debris. With the recovery of all the bodies, the search operation has come to a close.
Shimla District Witnesses 55 Deaths Amidst Ongoing Disaster
The relentless rain has wreaked havoc in Shimla district. Since June 22, due to landslides, nearly 55 people have tragically lost their lives in the Shimla district. Additionally, seven people remain missing, and efforts are underway to locate them. The district has also witnessed around 60 injuries due to landslides and natural calamities. Superintendent of Police, Sanjeev Gandhi, confirmed that the death toll due to landslides has reached 55, and approximately 60 individuals have been injured. Search teams comprising police personnel are working diligently to locate the missing individuals.
