Delhi-NCR is experiencing a pleasant spell of rain before bidding adieu to the monsoon season. Rainfall has been gracing the region since morning, making the weather delightful. The temperatures have also dropped, providing relief from the recent heatwave. However, this rainfall has caused waterlogging in various parts of Ghaziabad, leading to traffic jams in Delhi-NCR.
On Friday morning, the sky was overcast, and rain had already started. Although the sun briefly appeared in the afternoon, it was followed by a downpour in the evening. The weather department has predicted rain for both Saturday and Sunday. Moreover, there is a possibility of cloudy skies from the 19th to the 21st of September.
The weather department had forecasted rain on Friday morning, with expected winds blowing at speeds of 50-70 kilometers per hour. As anticipated, moderate to heavy rainfall occurred from 7 AM onwards.
The maximum temperature on Friday was recorded at 34.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was a degree below normal at 23.7 degrees Celsius. By 8:30 AM, Delhi had received 4.1 mm of rainfall, and by 5 PM, it had accumulated 0.6 mm. Maximum temperatures in various areas included 30.4 degrees Celsius in Mayur Vihar, 33.7 degrees Celsius in Pusa, and 32.3 degrees Celsius in the Sports Complex. On Saturday, dusty winds with speeds of 30-40 kilometers per hour are expected.
