Pilgrim from Maharashtra Swept Away by Yamuna River After Visiting Yamunotri Dham

A senior pilgrimage traveler from Maharashtra who had just completed a visit to the Yamunotri shrine was swept away by the Yamuna River on Tuesday morning. A team from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is currently engaged in search and rescue operations for the pilgrim.

According to information, the 60-year-old pilgrim had been staying at a hotel in the Kishala village near the Yamunotri highway. After his visit to the Yamuna riverbank for prayers and rituals, he unfortunately slipped and was carried away by the swift current of the river.

Police and SDRF Team On Scene After Receiving Information

As soon as the information was received, the police administration and SDRF team reached the scene and initiated search operations. So far, there is no trace of the pilgrim. SDM Mukesh Ramola stated that a search operation is currently underway.
