Manish Sisodia Appears in Court, Four Accused Granted Bail; Next Hearing Date Fixed

On Wednesday, the court granted bail to four accused in the Delhi liquor policy case. These accused were not arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) during the investigation. The CBI had filed supplementary charge sheets against these four individuals along with one more accused.

During the proceedings, former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia was also presented in the Rouse Avenue Court. Special CBI Judge M. K. Nagpal granted regular bail to the accused: Rajesh Joshi, Damodar Prasad Sharma, Prince Kumar, and Arjun Pandey, who were not arrested by the CBI during their investigation. The CBI did not oppose their bail application. As per the court’s directions, the CBI provided copies of the charge sheets to the accused’s lawyers, who had applied for them.

The court has scheduled the next hearing in the case for October 19th. On the last hearing date of August 22nd, the CBI had stated that they would soon file a supplementary charge sheet and mentioned that the investigation into the excise duty case was still ongoing. According to the CBI, Sisodia played the most crucial and significant role in the criminal conspiracy and was deeply involved in the formulation and implementation of the said policy to ensure the achievement of its objectives.
