During the upcoming main Independence Day celebration on August 15th, glimpses of Made in India helicopters will be showcased. For the first time, two Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH) Dhruv will be used to shower flowers during the program at the Red Fort.
Prior to this, the tradition of showering flowers at the venue of the main Independence Day gathering near the Red Fort was initiated in 2021 using Russian-made Mi-17 V5 helicopters. Defense sources mentioned that this year, after the Prime Minister unfurls the flag at the Red Fort, two ALH Dhruv helicopters will be used for the flower shower.
Prime Minister Modi will deliver his tenth consecutive address from the Red Fort. People are already quite excited about the message that the Prime Minister will convey from the historic location. It’s worth noting that during his speech discussing the vote of no confidence in Parliament on Thursday, PM Modi praised the ALH Dhruv helicopters.
The indigenously manufactured helicopters by HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) are a significant achievement in the defense public sector unit. After the flag-hoisting ceremony, the Prime Minister will deliver his speech in honor of the participants, with around 1,800 special guests from various fields expected to attend the event in the capital. A Bharat Bhushan Babu, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defence, tweeted that nearly 1,800 special guests from various sectors across the country will be part of the Independence Day celebration in the capital.
