Former US President Donald Trump Faced Mug Shot Procedure on Thursday. As a result, Donald Trump is now one of the former Presidents who have had their photo taken in the capacity of an accused person. This is the first time in American history that a sitting or former President has gone through this procedure. In fact, Trump surrendered to the Atlanta jail on Thursday in relation to allegations of election fraud, after which he was formally arrested. He was later taken for a mug shot and released about half an hour later.
Court Suggested Surrender
Donald Trump was suggested by the court to surrender himself. Following this advice, a total of 19 individuals, including 77-year-old Trump, surrendered in this case involving alleged election fraud in Atlanta. It’s important to note that in the past year, Trump has already surrendered himself four times in various courts across the United States.
This is the first instance of a former President having his photo taken in the capacity of an accused person by the police. According to American laws, the process of capturing the photo of an accused person’s face by the police is termed as a mug shot. Donald Trump is alleged to have orchestrated a plot to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.

Supporter Turned Himself In
Prior to Trump, his former ally Mark Meadows had surrendered himself in this case. According to the county’s website, he has been arrested. Meadows is one of the 18 co-defendants, including Trump, accused of aiding Trump in plotting to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Short Stay in Jail
Trump spent only about 20 minutes in jail and then returned to his New Jersey golf club. However, before boarding his private plane at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, he claimed that he was being framed. After his arrest, speaking to reporters, Trump, who is leading the 2024 Republican presidential nomination race, said that it was a very sad day for America. He stated that what has happened here is a mockery of justice. I did nothing wrong.
