Elephants Threaten Commuters on Haridwar-Laksar National Highway near Missarpur in Haridwar

In a startling incident, three elephants created chaos on the Haridwar-Laksar National Highway near Missarpur, Haridwar on Wednesday. The sudden appearance of these elephants caused panic among commuters, prompting them to abandon their vehicles and flee in fear. After the elephants left the scene, normalcy was restored, and drivers returned to their vehicles.

Video footage of the elephants on the highway has gone viral on social media. Local residents Pankaj Chauhan, Rajesh Saini, Manoj Saini, and Akshay Chauhan revealed that herds of elephants have been posing a threat to the surrounding neighborhoods. Over the past three days, there has been continuous elephant activity in the area, creating unease among residents. Farmers are also concerned about the safety of their crops.

Forest Range Officer Dinesh Naudiyal explained that forest workers are dispatched to guide elephants back into the jungle. He urged everyone to avoid obstructing the path of these elephants and to remain cautious.
