Chhattisgarh: Priyanka’s Rally Style – Anecdote About Scolding Rajiv & Folk Dance.

The Congress party in Chhattisgarh is gearing up for the upcoming elections. Prominent leaders have been making continuous visits to the state. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has already undertaken four visits to the state. Now, party General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has arrived in Bhilai to connect with women at the Mahila Samriddhi Sammelan (Women’s Prosperity Conference). During her speech, Priyanka targeted Prime Minister Modi on issues like inflation and unemployment.

She stated, “The Prime Minister’s billionaire friends are making millions, while the country’s farmers are earning just 27 rupees a day. This rally was organized in this region because Durg district is considered the VIP district of the state.” Durg district is the home constituency of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and five other ministers. If we consider the entire Durg division, it comprises six of the state’s ministers. Out of the 20 assembly seats in Durg, 18 are currently held by Congress. The party is keen on retaining this stronghold in the upcoming elections.

Upon her arrival in Bhilai, Priyanka was welcomed in accordance with the Chhattisgarh cultural tradition with a “Raut Nach” folk dance. She also participated in a demonstration related to the state government’s schemes. During her visit, Priyanka even performed the “Suva Nach,” a popular local dance during which women gather with baskets of jute yarn and perform this vibrant dance. It serves as a medium for them to share their joys and sorrows, express themselves through their voices, and shed light on contemporary social issues.

In her speech, Priyanka began by paying tribute to Chhattisgarh’s legendary Mahatari and Balmeshwari Mata. She shared childhood memories of playing games like “Pittu” and emphasized how women used to outperform men in those games. She praised the self-reliance and confidence of the women in Chhattisgarh today, attributing it to the government’s efforts.

She expressed concern that people in the country are being misled today. Regarding the G-20 summit, Priyanka mentioned the exorbitant expenses on various projects, including the construction of a new parliament building, while the country’s farmers earn only 27 rupees a day. She highlighted the importance of respecting the nation’s farmers and their hard work, in addition to the honor bestowed upon the country.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s visit to Chhattisgarh, coupled with her participation in local cultural activities, aimed to connect with the people and address their concerns ahead of the upcoming elections.
