After Car Accident, Rishabh Pant Plays Match for the First Time, Hits Boundaries and Sixes

Indian cricket team’s star wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant, has received some positive news. After a serious car accident at the end of last year that left him severely injured, Pant has resumed batting practice. A viral video on social media shows Pant actively involved in batting drills. According to the video, Pant was seen spending an extended period at the crease on Tuesday (August 15), captivating the present fans.

Following the accident, Pant spent significant time at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) focusing on his fitness and refining his wicketkeeping and batting skills. Now, he has made his first appearance in any form of cricket match since then. He showcased his skills in a local match, playing some aggressive shots including boundaries and sixes.

When Can We Expect Rishabh Pant’s Comeback?

On December 30, 2022, Pant suffered a serious car accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway, resulting in significant injuries. Recently, after resuming batting and wicketkeeping practice, his return date to competitive cricket is still quite distant. It is being speculated that he might make his comeback in the home Test series against England next year.
