25 Children Fall Ill After Consuming Mid-Day Meal at a Primary School in Loni, Ghaziabad

In a concerning incident, 25 children fell ill after consuming the mid-day meal at a primary school in Prem Nagar, Loni, in the Loni Kotwali area of Ghaziabad. The children complained of headaches, stomachaches, and nausea after consuming the meal and were subsequently admitted to the Loni Community Health Center for treatment. Fortunately, all the affected children are now reported to be out of danger, and medical treatment is ongoing.

The primary school in Prem Nagar, Loni, has a total enrollment of 513 students, including children from the surrounding colonies. According to the students, the mid-day meal was served around 10 a.m., and the school staff instructed them to drink the milk provided. However, the children found the milk to be bitter, but they were coerced into drinking it by the school staff. Some children consumed the bitter milk out of fear of being punished by the staff. Subsequently, some students experienced nausea, headaches, and stomachaches, and one child even started crying due to the discomfort. Concerned individuals in the vicinity rushed to the school upon hearing about the sick children. Ambulances were used to transport the affected children to the Loni Community Health Center for medical attention.

Upon receiving the information, SDM Arun Dixit arrived at the scene and interacted with the families of the ailing children. The presence of a large crowd prompted the deployment of police forces to maintain order.

Local residents claim that there have been previous complaints about students falling ill after consuming food at this school. They had previously reported these issues to the relevant authorities. Following the recent incident, food safety officials also arrived at the scene and collected samples for investigation.
