Want To Be Googler For A Day ?

Google has launched the Googler for a Day competition. The purpose of the competition is to encourage teenagers to “explore the world of Computer Science.” The finalists will be invited for a day at Google’s European Engineering Centre in Zurich.

The last date ro participate is October 8, 2008 to apply. The application form is over here, which includes two essay questions.

Eligibility:

  • Your age must be between 14-16 years.
  • You must be be enrolled in a Swiss school class that is in a “(Langzeit-)Gymnasium” or in “Sekundarschule A” OR be enrolled in a class in (or preparing for) a “Gymnasium” or “Kantonsschule”.
  • You must be in a class of no more than 26 students.
  • You must be having interested in learning more about Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Informatics, or a closely related technical field.
  • maintain an excellent behaviour and school performance record.
  • You must be accompanied by your teacher and the relevant number of teacher’s assistants.
