Google to Launch gPhone in India for INR-8000

The HTC G1 or you can call it the First Google Android phone has already sold 1 .5 million units (pre-orders) as of now.

Its just for somewhere around $180 and comes with a 2 year contract.

According to some confidential sources, HTC is in talks with Some of the leading Indian operators to introduce The Google Phone to India starting from somewhere around INR-8,000 but we are still not sure about this as some sources reported it to be priced as high as INR-20,000.

Anyhow thats much cheaper and million times better then than the Apple iPhone which is currently available in the Indian Market for INR-30,000 (approx).

So all your users who felt disappointed or fooled by the iphone pricing .. are u listening ?

Airtel has good relationship with HTC for handsets and Airtel India might offer this phone aka HTC G1 or HTC Dream.

Airtel might also consider adding a new data plan for the G1 like the iphone plan.

Till the rumors are confirmed, just be hoping that the competition between apple , nokia and htc might result in a price cut.

Research In Motion Turns to Microsoft For Search

Research In Motion Ltd (RIM). agreed to put Microsoft Corp.’s Internet search engine (Live.com) on BlackBerrys, giving the software maker a foothold on the top-selling e-mail phone in the U.S.

Microsoft’s Live Search will be available on BlackBerrys by the end of this year. BlackBerry customers can use the search engine to find nearby businesses and attractions.

The next battleground for search will be mobile, and Microsoft can gain a foothold by striking presumably lucrative deals with device manufacturers to feature its search over others.  (Much like Internet Explorer comes as the default browser on many PCs).   Even though the iPhone is selling extremely well, it’s still trailing the BlackBerry and if Windows Mobile devices are added to the equation, Microsoft now has significant mobile search market share to use as a platform for its mobile advertising endeavors.
