Dedicated IP VS Shared IP for SEO

I had seen many web hosting companies selling Dedicated IP Hosting claiming that its SEO Hosting… which is not at all true.

There is no need to buy a dedicated IP address or a dedicated server for hosting your website .. just to get good Search Engine Results.

According to CRAIG:
"Google handles virtually hosted domains and their links just the same as domains on unique IP addresses. If your ISP does virtual hosting correctly, you'll never see a difference between the two cases. We do see a small percentage of ISPs every month that misconfigure their virtual hosting, which might account for this persistent misperception--thanks for giving me the chance to dispel a myth!"

According to Matt Cutts:
"Links to virtually hosted domains are treated the same as links to domains on dedicated IP addresses."

Remember: You do not need to have a unique IP to rank good in search engines. Anyone who is asking you to go for a Dedicated IP to rank well in search engines is misinformed or wants profit from selling you expensive dedicated web hosting.
