As i had told earlier that Google is more then a search engine ….. for me its more then 6 Years and still m discovering new things about Google last night i was browsing some Blog and from there i came to know that we can find definitions via Google. Lets take an example type “what is keyword” (We will see just one definition), and by typing “define: keyword” we will see below result .

google definations

Google defines this function as:

“ System and method for providing definitions is described. A phrase to be defined received. One or more documents, containing at least one definition. The phrase is matched to at least one of the definitions. One or more definitions for the phrase are presented.”

Now you will ask me How to appear in Google Definitions .. ?? Well just follow the below steps and you are done …

  1. Just, put a word to define, followed by definition.
  2. Always remember to Make the definition unique.
  3. < p >, < li >, < tr > and < br > are treated as separators between definitions by Google.
  4. Always Put keyword to define and definition inside the same paragraph. Only use those words in the paragraph, you can also use HTML tags < dl >, < dd > and < dt > to specify lists of definitions.
  5. Remember your rank in comparison to other ranks will be based on Pagerank of the document where you list the definition.
  6. Keywords can be differentiated by using HTML tags like < b >, < em >, < strong >, < span > or < code >.
  7. Keyword can be Separated by defining the definitions like : or -.
  8. Words like definitions, glossary, what is, dictionary and canonical forms of them as Title tag, heading tags, and in the URL will be helpful.
  9. Always Remember to have nearly 5 definitions every page else they will be discarded.
  10. Never start any definition with words like “see” or it will be discarded.
  11. Never capitalize the 1st letter of any definition.

Just follow the above 11 Points and create your glossary, According to me you will never face any problem in getting good result on the keywords you define.
