Google to Launch gPhone in India for INR-8000
October 14th, 2008 | by Ankit |The HTC G1 or you can call it the First Google Android phone has already sold 1 .5 million units (pre-orders) as of now.
Its just for somewhere around $180 and comes with a 2 year contract.
According to some confidential sources, HTC is in talks with Some of the leading Indian operators to introduce The Google Phone to India starting from somewhere around INR-8,000 but we are still not sure about this as some sources reported it to be priced as high as INR-20,000.
Anyhow thats much cheaper and million times better then than the Apple iPhone which is currently available in the Indian Market for INR-30,000 (approx).
So all your users who felt disappointed or fooled by the iphone pricing .. are u listening ?
Airtel has good relationship with HTC for handsets and Airtel India might offer this phone aka HTC G1 or HTC Dream.
Airtel might also consider adding a new data plan for the G1 like the iphone plan.
Till the rumors are confirmed, just be hoping that the competition between apple , nokia and htc might result in a price cut.
