Google can read text from images ?

So i just noticed this at Google Catalogs which is at its beta stage right now !!

Lets take an example there search “Computers“. It will show all catalogs from its DB !! Now click on any of them !! Yes this is strange !!

You can see the word Computers Highlighted on all of the catalogs !!

So do we conclude that Google has discovered something with the help of which it can read whats written over a Image ???

    Google does grow.
    I cant wait for it to read text from Flash based website :D

    Ankit, IMO Google can read text from SOME, PREPROCESSED images. Real time image tracing is still far, far away :D

    If you had taken the time to check you would have learned that the catalogs are scanned. http://catalogs.google.com/googlecatalogs/help.html#2
